My daughter and I, along with a co-worker, went out for lunch (local Asian) and to see A Wrinkle in Time today. It was a good movie – fast paced catchy story, beautiful visuals, heart-warming feels and I loved the actors. We had been planning it for a couple of weeks and turning away from the negative ? reviews so we wouldn’t be affected.
It’s a rare movie that is worth a $10 movie ticket. This just happened to be one of my daughter’s favorite books from teenagerhood and an outing was required. I’m a huge Disney fan, but not even all of those necessitate a big-screen. Wonder Woman, Guardians of the Galaxy 1&2, Star Wars – definitely
If you don’t know the story, written by Madeleine L’Engle in 1962, the main character Meg, is the daughter of two science geniuses who discover how to travel quickly through the universe. The dad is experimenting and gets “lost in space”. Meg, her friend and her brother run into 3 “spirits” who lead them on a hunt for him. It’s a story about loyalty, love, good/evil and appreciating our uniqueness.
I’m not a film buff, but I know if I enjoy watching a movie.
I enjoyed everything about A Wrinkle in Time. Good music. Chris Pine with a beard.
